Do I have to wear heals to a job interview or can I wear ballet flats?

I keep reading that heels are better for some reason? I'm so nervous!

  • I always wore nice flats. Because I can not wear heals because of weak ankles.

  • Flats are ok but maybe something a little dressier than ballet flats. Not only are they too casual but just because I haaaaaaattteee the way they look! So I may be a little biased!

  • It also depends on the job your interviewing for ,and the attire you would be wearing at this job.

  • Not everyone can wear heels. As long as your shoes are nice it doesnt matter.

  • Ballet flats are ok if they're in good condition. For the last job I left, I sat in on the interviews and my bosses were very critical about what the candidates wore. One girl had wrinkly clothes and they couldn't stand her! Appearances matter big time at interviews, definitely wear a suit if you have one or a suit jacket with nice slacks. Do not bling out or chew gum and good luck!!!!

  • OP here- I wasn't going to wear a blazer, I was going to wear a cardigan... I guess a jacket would be better though. It's for a business office secretary job in a hospital.
