  • About $2000 to close, and the seller contributed $6000 towards the closing house and the house costs $107,000 for 4 bedrooms and 2 baths, 1 story. We live in Houston, Tx.

  • $98,500 for our house (1058 sq. foot 2 1/2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage with a detached 4 car garage, a small lot of land & a cellar that is basically just our laundry room...used to have exterior access only but in the 70's they added on to the house and added stairs from the kitchen. The stairs to nowhere are still in the cellar though) in a small lakeside village on the shores of Lake Erie in OH. No closing costs since we bought it with a VA loan.

  • Just a tip - If you are a first time home buyer, it is recommended for you to ask the seller to pay closing costs.

That is what we did and our realator suggested it. We also paid the asking price because it was reasonable and we wanted this school district. I am not sure if paying the asking price had anything to do with the sellers agreeing on the closing costs. GL! Its so much fun! You know which house is the right house immediately!!

  • You have to tell us where you live.

We bought our house in CA for $600,000 (worth 1.2 now)
About the same time my cousin in IN bought a house for less than $50,000.

  • OP here, first time buyer, i did find the perfect house that i want, looking at it again today, but I only have about 5000 and we can get a VA loan but i am worried closing cost is gonna be way way to high since the house is 170000 pretty low for my area but still. its 3 bedroom 2 bath 2200sq, since i got 3 kids this would be awesome. just not wanting to put out 10000$ for closing, and have no extra money if something goes wrong in the house

  • We have bought twice and paid 0 both times at closing! Just request the seller pays all closing costs. We even got some of our earnest back when we closed both times. We also did VA loans.
Now when we recently refinanced, we had to put almost 2k down because the house is not considered an investment property. If you guys are AD hopefully you will get to stay in the home long enough to sell it. We were not able to with our second home and now it's rented out. The renters are pissing me off BIG time! My house was in perfect condition before moving, we even had it inspected for "possible" problems....Well it's been rented out for almost 6 months and there have been OVER 6 issues where a handy man or whatever was called out....So pretty much they are breaking things and I'm paying for it!!!!!
