2 Questions :)

Hubby makes roughly $40,000 will we even see any of the credit?

Do you get it through federal or state?

  • I'm not positive...I will tell you our experience..
We adopted from China- our total was $26K. We adopted in 07'. The tax credit was $11,360 when we filed our 07' taxes. We were able to get everything back..
You should be able to claim all that you paid in taxes towards your long as the child was in your home within the allotted time frame.. If I remember correctly, it is different between domestic and International. With IA the child has to be in your home before the end of the year, I'm not sure about DIA .
