My 8mo old screams, out of no where. Normal? what to do?

Just recently, within the past month, my 8mo screams. Everything will be quite, then she just screams loudly. Only once. Then maybe 5-20min later she might scream again. Its horrible to go shopping. Is this normal? Is she just throwning a fit? Is there a way to stop it?
I've been trying to use softer voices and whispers around her so she will lower her voice but it hasnt worked. Suggestions?

  • is a playful scream or a hurt scream? if happy sounding playful scream that is just her discovering her voice. when she starts learning her words more the screaming will calm down.

  • It sounds angry. But she does it in the middle of me talking to her, or when everythings quite. After screaming she will be quiet. No emotion really. Its not a painful scream though. She just yells. Like tourette syndrom or something, idk.
