How involved should grandparents be?

Be very detailed. My mother thinks shes my oldest kid mother practically. Buys him name brand clothing/shoes, play stations, nintendo ds, toys, nerf guns, and whatever hes heart's desire. I have told her to back off and she goes crazy...

  • Involved is one thing but enabling and over stepping boundaries is another. I'm a grandmother of nine. She's gone over the boundaries.

  • Thanks admckenzie, theres more to it then what I have put, but besides that, she favors him over hes other siblings. Its been a hurtful ordeal and she has created issues beyond issues..

  • I am like this when my kids were still under 18. As long as I was not buying it. I did not care. But if my kids did something wrong. I would take the stuff away, just like if I bought it.

  • sounds more like she is spoiling them...which is something grandparents should do.  I love letting my son get spoiled but  when he comes home i let him know that he isnt at mamaw and papaws anymore and party time is over.
