What does "Bump" mean when used on the discussion board?

It would serve the same purpose by bumping it up to the top of the discussion ..... Then, they pass the paper off to their left, as does everyone else. ... -

  • When you're in a group forum, the topics that have the most recent responses show up at the top of the list... so sometimes people write "BUMP" so that the topic goes back to the top of the list so that more people will see it.

  • I believe, and would like to think, that when a story is "Bumped" it is because it is important and has good info that should be shared with many. If a story gets enough bumps it is then raised to the top of many other stories allowing more people to view it.
    Hope this helps :O)
