I'm not christian but attended a catholic grade school and joined a non denom christian church after high school. I can tell you what I learned about the Christian God is that he his followers all loving father. What father would get angry at a child who wants to ask why something bad happened to them?
For instance, if a child comes in late for curfew, as shaneagle pointed out "the answer may not be what you are looking for" in this instance the child is grounded because they knew the curfew but they blew it anyway. So the father reiterates the reason why the child is grounded. "it's for your own good" the father says. Yet the next time the child does the same thing again, only this time, he is arrested for speeding and gets a ticket not only for speeding but for being out past curfew.
In life i think God(or any deity) needs us to learn a lesson from our mistakes, so sometimes things seem so challenging and we question them
