Thinking about trying cloth diapers....which brand?

I was thinking about trying out cloth diapers after hearing rave reviews about them. I have no clue which brand to go with. Any opinions?

  • My only regret with cloth diapering is that we didnt try it sooner. I use pocket style diapers, the most recommended in our stash are fuzzibunz, happy heinys, chunky monkeys, and bumgenius'.
Here is some additional info since I bookmarked my own research.

  • I mostly use prefolds and covers when at home because they are cheap and they dry easily. I started with the prefolds from Little Lions but they don't have as many sizes so now we use the prefolds from Diaper Junction. For covers we use Thirsties covers and I love them.
I have about nine one size pocket diapers for when we leave the house. I have Fuzzi Bunz, Bum Genius, and then some made by a WAHM. I like the ones made by the mom and Fuzzi Bunz the best. The Bum Genius, I didn't like too much at first, but I'm liking them more as time goes on. They are just a bit more bulky when you have them at the smaller settings. We've rarely had a poop blowout with any of the cloth but we regularly have them on the rare occasions we use disposables.

  • Fuzzi bunz adjustables are great, and a great value. just be sure to follow their laundering instructions.

  • bum genius 3.0 are the best! One diaper fits 8-35 pounds, easy to put on, easy to wash. Well worth the initial investment!

  • Bumgenius 3.0 - no leaks, work great! The only thing is our son is on the smaller side and he wasn't rolling over or sitting on his own when the "normal" is so his pediatrician recommended disposables for awhile and he's doing tons better - we plan on going back to cloth when he starts crawling (or when our stash of disposables are gone). We miss his cute little cloth bootie:)
