will medicaid cover an IUD?

I just got on medicaid and was just wondering if anyone knows whether or not medicaid will cover an IUD?

  • The state aide offered in Wisconsin did cover the Mirena IUD for me.

  • I got it free from a program in Illinois, a sliding fee scale. But, think before you do it. I developed a bad infection, never stopped bleeding and cramping and had to have it removed within two months! I would never recommend this to anyone. I think sterilization is a better method.
