what are some home remidies for a runny nose and cough in a 20month old?

ive tried the steam,meds,humidifrs...?

  • You can give them a small spoonful or you can mix it in with their food if they are hesitant to take it that way. I often had to mix it with some jelly and put on toast for my daughter to take.

  • Mine just got over bronchitis. We made thyme tea (steep 1/2tsp of dried thyme or 1 1/2 tsp of fresh thyme in hot water for 5min) with honey and lemon juice and I put it in her sippy, it helps decrease any swelling of the sinuses/throat and helps dry up the mucus. If he will eat onions, make him stuff with onions in it because they are a natural expectorant. Also give water/tea instead of milk until he gets better. That's my suggestion (what worked for my DD).

  • humidifiers are great in the winter! let the nose run, the body is discharging dead and sick cells...better out than in! give them lots of fluids and lots of love!
