A little of that inconvenient accounting for you

We just sent $100 million into the ether for Haiti. Right now, FEMA is in possession of 103,000 trailers that were purchased after Katrina. They have no plans to send them to Haiti. They want to liquidate them in an auction for a fraction of their value. Out local congressman is asking them to just send them to Haiti instead, and they aren't returning his calls.

Why are we selling 103,000 trailers at a VERY significant loss instead of sending them where they can do some good and deducting their value from an aid package?

  • because the people that run this country dont know what to do. they have no leadershop skills, and figure throwing money at any situation will fix it.

  • Gee, that would be logical, and effective. Things this admin is NOT. See, by sending $$, there is probably a way for some of it to find its way back......kwim? So, sending actual material items would not be in someone's best $ interest.

  • Donnelly is trying. I'd suggest everyone else who agrees drop a quick email to your own reps and put the bug in their ear about it.

Yes, there are. But do the common, normal citizens get to live in them? Or are they just for the elite? I think we all know the answer to that.
