My TPR has been finalized, I am now doing adoption proceedings

I had my foster boy since he was 3 weeks old. He will be 3 in July. The TPR has been filed months ago and the court recently granted the TPR.
I no longer had to do those darn agency visits. I am super excited and wanted to share.

  • Just curious to know is there a limit of time that the birthparents get before their rights are terminated?

  • Almost 3 years? Wow! That's an amazingly long time. Makes me wonder if siblings were involved. We had our DS for over 2 years by the time the adoption was final. They TPR'd after 10 months, and then the case was appealed. That added another year. Congratulations to you! That's a really long time to be uncertain. Not sure I could have made it thru that. God bless.
