  • Neither of my boys could stand unassisted at that age =) Don't stress, kids reach milestones at their own pace.

  • Wow you have really high expectations! Relax! Every child progresses at their own pace. It's normal.

  • Not all children are standing up on their own by 8 months. Sometimes it takes longer for other children, other children are in a hurry to learn these things. At eight months it's okay if your child isn't doing it.

  • "no. If he's past 13 months and still not walking give me a ring."

Why? 12 months is the "average" age babies start walking, but many do not start until months later. 13 months is nothing to be alarmed at and is still perfectly normal.

OP- most 8 month old babies do not stand unassisted. Lower your expectations!

  • I think people expect too much from children these days. It is truly sad, we are forcing them to be adults before they can even wipe their own butts!
