8 months and still no teeth! Nothing, nada, zip! Should I be concerned?

  • My son was 9 months before he got any. Then he got the bottom 2 and it was like 4 more months before he got more. He didn't even get his 2 year molars until he was 3! I don't think it's bad at all, just some kids get or do at different rates.

  • I didn't get mine until after 12 months. I've also never had a cavity. In our family, those of us with the best teeth got them late. Think of it as a good thing!

  • Both of my kids got their first teeth at about 12 months. Nothing wrong, nothing to worry about.

  • my dentist said the same thing. the later, the better. my son is 16 and hes cavity free.

  • DS1 got his first tooth at 13 mos. DS2 had 6 by the time he was 6 mos, and DS3 got his first at 7 mos (and now @ 9 mos he's got 6)

  • the later they come in, the healthier they tend to be :) My daughter got her first tooth at 5 month, but my son not until 10 months.

  • Yes, the later the better! My daughter got her first four teeth at the same time (10.5 months) and then 4 more like a month later. Don't worry. Think of as a blessing . . especially if you're still nursing! lol
