  • Last year I got them each a little stuffed animal. But they never really played with them. This year, I might give them something they will play with or use. My mother-in-law gives everyone socks. lol

  • We make paper hearts, decorate them and then hang them around the house. Basic, cheap and always fun!

  • As a young girl, for Valentines Day my Dad would always bring me and my sister a single pink rose. It is something I still think about to this day and cherished.

  • they each get a little basket with some chocolates.

heart pancakes, and a fun dinner - last year we made pizzas and they formed theirs into heart shapes.

  • I have 5 children...I always made them breakfast with heart pancakes and sliced strawberries that resemble heart shapes when cut. I also would write them a note each year telling them of my love for them and the things I admired about them individually as the wonderful people they had become. My kids are older now but I still try to remember them somehow and write them notes and do the same even if I have to slip them in a lunch or a CD or whereever. My second oldest son, 3rd born, 17 yrs old, dies in Dec. of an accidental gunshot wound and I cherish those notes and those valentines days we spent together. He brought up many times we did special things like that before he left us and Im grateful for those memories now.

  • We do crafts. Construction paper and stickers were fun for my son at both ages. Every year from about age two I would let him pick out box valentines and send them to family members decorated in stickers. There some they can color. Heart shaped doilies make cute crafts as well.
