What would be a good name for a little girl?

My husband and I are expecting another little girl, my family has pretty much all the girl names taken and we need an original name for our daughter so that she won't get confused with any of her cousins.

  • You really only have two choices..start making up names (which I personally don't like) or...start looking at "old" names. family names from way way back. When my sister had her last child she sort of felt the same way about all the names in the familly. She went back to our Great, great grandmothers name. She liked it so well she used both her first and middle..maybe you would too. Now, I'm not sure I would use Idella Rayjean like my sister..lol..but there might be a jewel hidden somewhere.

  • I would say sit down with a baby name book. You and your hubby go throw it and find names you like that are not in you family. Good luck and have fun.

  • For my child that is due in July, if it's a boy we are using my husband's grandmother's maiden name as his first name (Hudson). We have the same issues - there are 11 cousins on my side and 9 on my husbands, so all of the common popular names were taken. We started looking back at family names from generations past.
