Is it legal to pretty much force an employee to work a double shift?

Even though things can be covered by the on-coming shift, can the employer make someone stay? Employer being a nursing home. Are there laws or anyone got any legal advice?

  • I don't know if you will get a good answer here. I think it depends on where you live.

  • Contact your state's department of labor; laws vary by state.
