Can you breastfeed with an IUD?

I'm currently pregnant with my "4 and final", (lol, thats what I'm calling it). Anyways, I was thinking about getting an IUD after I have this baby but I also want to breastfeed. I've heard that you can't breastfeed with and IUD. Is that true? More importantly, have you breastfed while having an IUD in?

  • You can breastfeed with an IUD. I used it as long term birth control between babies while breastfeeding.

  • I exclusively breast fed my DD for 6 months with an IUD. That is one of the "pros" of an IUD (to me). I continued to BF her until she was a year, without any problems.
