what do u do when ur kids are sick and school?

my son has missed school monday and tuesday cuz he has had a sore throat. its not strep just a sore throat. yesterday he was playing his games all day and really did not complain much of his throat hurting until this am. should ould i keep him home or send him?

  • You also might want to talk to him about what he might be avoiding by staying home, a test maybe that he was unprepared for, being bullied, something. just kinda like gentle conversation and try to work in trying to figure it out from him.

  • I send my kids if they dont have a fever or throwing up and if they act okay(you can tell if they really dont feel good)

  • We also have the: if you are not throwing up and you don't have a fever, you go to school.

  • Maybe the heat is dry in your house. In out house if we dont' run the humidifiers at night everyone wakes up with a dry scratchy throat. Once we get moisture in there it goes away.

  • I'd get some throat drops and then send him to school with them (if the school will allow it). I think 2 days home is enough, especially if he is not complaining of pain, or having any other cold symptoms (fever, vomiting...)
