  • 2 teenage boys walk down the 2 main ailes with wooden plates, you pass towards the boys but we have a small church of 30 people so its not too big a deal.

  • ours isn't a basket, it's more like a nice velvet sack with 2 wood handles. 2 ushers stand in front of the pulpit, and we go put it in their. tithe goes in envelopes, offering can go with or without envelopes. if there is any other ministry they want to put money towards it goes in an envelope. there are ministries printed on the envelopes you can check and put how much you're wanting to give. say for instance you have $100 in there. you can give $20 to offering, $50 to tithe, $10 to childrens church, $20 to youth. there are other ministries but i figured those would be the best examples. or you can just give it all to whatever you want.

  • Our church has baskets that are passed around. There are two Masses geared more toward families and then the children bring up the smaller baskets and pour the collection into a bigger basket. At the other Masses the ushers collect the smaller baskets. Our parish also offers the option of having money withdrawn automatically on a weekly/monthly basis so people don't have to bring money to Mass. On certain days like the past two weeks any loose money (money not in a parish donation envelope) was donated to the Catholic Relief Services Haiti fund. Our funds are used to support not just the parish, but the dioceses and several social service programs including a food pantry. There's a financial summary weekly in the bulletin and each year a detailed annual report is sent to all parishners.
