Does your church have carpeting?

I got to church about 15 minutes early, there were already people there praying in the stone quiet building. Here I come with my kids in heels on the marble floors with the high ceilings and great acoustics. I made my entrance noticed =)

I wonder if a nice carpet down the aisle would be a good idea? Ten minutes later it didn't matter, so many people were coming in and getting seated the sound of heels no longer echoed

  • As far as I can remember, all parish's I've been in have had hard floors too - either tile or laminate. But carpeting is beneath the pews. I assume it's cuz carpeting in high-traffic areas are high-maintenance.

  • We have a just-built church...all tile. I don't think I've ever been in a church with carpeting.

  • I've never been in a church without carpeting other than big cathedrals and such. One of the churches I attended as a teen had the thickest and squishiest carpet ever. I always wanted to try walking on it barefoot but never got the chance.

  • Our church we go to now is tile, but the one I grew up in and was married in has carpet through the whole chapel.

  • high heels cause heel spurs...and seriously, no one can convince me they are more comfortable than flats. heels are another plot of deception placing the beauty of women higher in priority over the brains and heart.
