Does anyone know if the 'flicker' of fetal circulation is an early heartbeat?

So I was told that the 'flicker', which looks like a heartbeat was fetal circulation, but I was not sure if it is in the baby? Is there a difference between the 'flicker' and an actual baby heartbeat? Are they the same? Has anyone seen this in their ultrasounds? Thanks a bunch!!

  • How old is the baby? At 21 or 22 days gestation the baby's heart begin to beat. I can't imagine blood circulating w/o a heartbeat.
