Child Tax credit in Minnesota?

I thought it was based on your income but a friend told me it was an automatic $2000 credit per dependent no matter what? Is this true?

  • would it really change state to state? im pretty sure it's 1000 per child it will be raised next year to 2000 though

  • it is based on income and its up to 1000 per child, we have 2 kids and are getting like 1500 for the child tax credit

  • It depends on income. I make less than my ex-husband, so I claim both of our children on my tax return because I get more back for them than he would.
