If an atheist has to go to court, do they make him swear on the Bible?

  • There is no point to swearing on the Bible if the Bible means nothing to you. Instead, you can affirm. Same basic idea, just no Bible.

  • No one HAS to swear on a bible... if a person objects to using a bible in such a way (and believe it or not there are a great many Christians who refuse to swear on a bible) they simply are required to raise their right hand and say "I do so affirm".
