26 week old and bad coughing??

My son has been coughing nonstop for three days now. His temp is slight but a steady 100 (with a forehead thermometer), his nose isnt running and his ears dont seem to be bothering him. He isnt loosing any appitite or sleeping any less. But the coughing wakes him and he has even started coughing so hard it made him throw up. He is normally laughing and rolling around but the past two days he has just whined and cried... Any ideas on whats up?

  • I always feel better going to the pediatrician when they have coughs because it could be something in the chest or lungs that is making it rather difficult for them to breath. You dont want it to turn into something worse either. So take baby in and have them listen to the lungs and make sure everything is alright. They will give you ideas on how to help sooth baby as well. I suggest a johnson and johnson vapor bath with the warm steamy air around...so other words start the shower and let the HOT HOT run alone and then when its steamy give baby a warm bat with the vapor soap. • Your child needs to go to the doctor and possibly the ER. If your son's coughing to where he is having trouble breathing (coughing until throwing up is normally a sign) then it is time for a trip to the ER. If your son's chest is indenting when he breathes then you must go to the ER. Check for breaths per minute on the Internet for your child's age and check him if he is above a certain level take him to the ER. Good Luck!!
