Potty Training a Boy? Advice? Tips?

My Son is 14 months and i was thinking about introducing him to a Potty seat, But i was wondering how to go about teaching him to Pee. Cause girls can just sit but with boys if they sit im not sure of it would go down into the potty. Any tricks or tips you used with your son's? Thank you.

  • We start our boys sitting. I give them salty snacks and loads of water and have them sit while we read a book, watch a movie or something along those lines. Then when they pee in the potty we make a big deal about it.

  • You have to teach them to aim it down while sitting. LOL Just tell him to hold it down so it doesn't spray.

  • it's better to teach them seating to pee because it will be confusing for them to learn to stand. try to make sure his legs are not wide open while sitting. also make sure his legs are hanging over the toilet instead of straight out. and my son always watches himself pee because to them it is amusing lol. this helps because he bends to look down at himself, making his package point down.
