How do you make contractions more regular?

I have been getting really hard contractions but they are not regular at all, they might be every 5 min for awhile then every 10 then back to 5. So i was wondering if there was anyway I could make them more regular?

  • walk.

but it doesn't always work - had contractions with #2 went for a long walk and it really brought them on. I walked miles with #3 and nothing helped....I had regular contractions and what they called nonproductive labour for 6 weeks before begging for induction.

  • nah. i'd just relax, they might go away, or they might keep up like that for days and days. so i'd just get my rest to be prepared for when regular labor does start. :) gl!

  • Walk, walk, walk. I'd suggest going to the zoo or mall, cause you casn go at your own pace, sit and rest, then go some more. I mean don't exhaust yourself, but just mosey. Then you can go home after a few hrs and rest a bit... A hot shower/ bath can help relax your muscles (and mind) which can help labor progress Also, swaying your hips can help position baby.
