Finding Local Pagans...

I greatly wish to find a group of local pagans. I know there are a good amount around, but it's safer here to keep your beliefs quiet if they aren't Christian. I did a search on a few different sites for local covens and groups and all I am finding is people in the city, which is about an hour away. I would like to start a "study" group or "meeting" group just as a way to have that local fellowship without threat of harm.

I would love some advice on how to start this. I was thinking of creating a website and then hanging some flyers, but I don't know. What does everyone else think??

  • Have you looked at Meetup.com?? If there isnt a group near you then you could start one yourself using their site.

  • You should go to one of the meetings in the city. You will probably find people that are near you. I didn't realize how many pagans lived near me till I went to a meeting I found on meetup.com.

  • OP Here - I tried MeetUp, that's how I found the groups from the city. But I can't go to the city, my DH would never go for it... He's Christian and Paganism scares him. I also tried Witchvox, but there was NO ONE!

  • Start a local yahoo group. You might find others joining and then you can meet when all is comfortable.

  • Here are some more sites:

    http://www.coven-space.com

    http://www.paganspace.net

Create a site, then post fliers with the address. Good idea too.
