Eating the Placenta?

I just heard that some people eat their Placenta. Some do it for Religion others say it's very healthy and good especially if you plan on breastfeeding. I would not do this but I would like to get some feedback from others.

  • I did a little bit of reading up on it because i found it interesting.
What i found basically said that there can be benefits. It can keep PPD at bay as well as other things. However, just like the placenta holds onto nutrients it also holds on to the toxins the mother was exposed to as well. ...So i'm not sure that pros are truly better then the cons and there have not been enough studies done on this to know for sure.
