  • Last time I sent Chex Mix and water bottles. I have also sent pretzels, juice pops in the summer - I try to steer away from stuff with a lot of sugar, but still buy stuff that I think all kids will eat.

  • I have had snack duty twice this school year. The first time I sent- apples and pretzels, Bananas and vanilla wafers, jello cups, and Cheeze Its. The second time I sent Go-gurts, apple sauce (the ones with the different flavors), granola bars, and Pringles honey sticks (my son's favorite!)

  • We have to send something that is pre-packaged. I usually let my son pick out what he wants to take though. He likes to take the individual packages of Gold Whales but has also taken cheez-its, bananas, cookies. We don't usually send drinks because they have milk for snack time. From what he tells me a LOT of kids bring gummies and those iced sugar cookies from the store bakery.

  • I also do a crate of clementines. They are almost entirely seedless (sometimes you'll get a section or two with a seed, but not often) and they are super easy to peel.

Just because a snack isn't sweet doesn't mean it's not full of refined sugars. You'd be surprised.
