  • they can start teething as early as 2 months but it doesn't mean any teeth will come in soon. my son started at 2 months and nothing came out till 5 months

  • Well first of all, your baby just discovered his fist. He explores by tasting, chewing, sucking.
But as the PP said, teething can begin as early as 2 months. It could still be a while before you actually see any teeth.

  • My oldest got his first tooth at 4 1/2 months, my oldest was over 9 months, my niece was 1 year. All of those are "normal". And you should just get used to a fist or a foot or whatever they've just picked up off the floor being in their mouth, everything will go there!

  • there are many reasons for chewing on fist
    - He is hungry. Its actually a sign that alot of moms miss. just as is "searching" (looking around the room) an early sign of hunger. (So many moms think crying is the 1st sign of hungry-- when really its about the last attempt a child makes to get his needs met)
    - Hes learning & exploring. babies put everything they can into their mouth.
    - He could be just beginning to teeth, but usually this will come with fussyness, crying... but it will be a few more months till you actually SEE anything.
