  • I don't know if this counts but I had to add my 2 cents......My step daughter was an only child until she was 19 and me and her dad gave her a brother.

Until he was born she was closer to her dad. She wouldn't even tell her mom she got her tounge pierced at 18 or was pregnant at 19. Her dad had to tell her mom.
Then her baby was born and so was her brother......now she is close to her mom and not her dad......it's like she is holding a grudge because she know has a brother.

  • My mother only because my father was a douchebag who abandoned us when I was 9 months old. Truth be told I was closer to my grandparents, usually my grandmother, but sometimes my grandfather.

  • I was definitely closer to my mom. My father was also a sob that left us (my mother and me) when I was about 1 year old. He died when I was about 7 or 8 (don't remember). Why do you ask this question?

  • I went back and forth growing up. I am my mothers only child. I've always been very close to her, but I have a very special bond with her husband, he raised me since 18mos old and has no children of his own. I actually gave my second son his father's name.

  • Anon12:35.......just curious because I have always been fascinated by human relations, and this was the human relationship topic weighing on my mind at the moment. If anyone wonders.......I was always a daddys girl growing up. I was also adopted very young and my adoptive parents already had a son 11 years my senior. My wonderful parents both passed away within a year of each other when I was a young teenager.
