My son scares me sometimes. He'll take a huge bite out of something and it looks like he barely chews before swallowing. He's fine. However, I cut meats and anything that requires a lot of chewing into pea or lima-bean sized bites. So he has to chew, but if he doesn't chew enough, I don't have to worry about it being too big to swallow. I offer him crackers and things that he has to take a bite of and chew. His favorite is the triscuits triangle crackers.
