  • The elementary school my daughter attended has Latin as part of the curriculum, starting in kindergarten. When she moved to her current school, a six year high school, she choose to start taking French; she is now in 9th grade, taking Honors French 3.

  • Part of the reason we enrolled our oldest in the charter school he goes to is because they have latin starting in kindergarten and spanish starting in second grade. Our school district doesn't start a second language until high school.

  • in my ds school he takes spanish for spanish speakers there is also spanish for english speakers and an EFL (estended froeign language) class which is suppoese to be 60/40... being Miami pretty much all the schools offer spanish from Kinder.
HOWEVER, there are also schools that offer: Mandarin, French, Italian etc. most of those are magnet schools and/or where in the city the school is.

  • In my kids elementary school all the kids take spanish as part of their "specials" (PE, music, etc) starting in kindergarten.

  • My kids take Spanish. ALL the kids in the school take it from kindergarten-8th grade. The younger kids get is once a week and the older kids (4th and up) have it at least twice a week and actually get graded on it and have tests and stuff. This is only the first year they've had it.
