At what age did your lil one master using a spoon/fork?

  • about 16 months old he uses on his own. big messes to still clean up at 22 months old now. still would rather use hands. I don't think its mastered til about 3. Just my thought though

  • Dd has been using a spoon since 6 mos but still can't get the concept of soup at 2. The fork she got down at 13 mos.

  • i let him have one early, like six months and he's been good at it now for about a year or so, he's three.

  • Since about 12 or 13 months when I gave him a spoon and let him have at it, he can eat soup and cold cereal now too at 18 months but he's always been good with hand eye coordination. I'm pretty sure the average age for a kid to actually use a fork and spoon well is between 18 and 24 months.
