Why does the government give out extra tax money to people just because they dont have good jobs?

The earned income tax credit.

Why is it there?

Just because some people cant get a good job, they get extra money for nothing? That doesn't make sense.

  • EXCUSE YOU!
I HAVE a good job, and I get it. I am a single mom, and a peds nurse. I don't work in a hospital because of the hours and being a single parent. I work in a peds office, and earn little enough to qualify. So get your facts together before you start pointing fingers!

  • If you are making 40 thousand a year which is what you need to make for a family of three to not qualify for EITC, then you don't need the extra. Sorry, but if you earn 40thousand a year, quit your bitching!
