Do you have your baby on a schedule?

I don't think that I do... She wakes up pretty early most mornings, goes back to sleep about an hour later and then wakes up some time after that...maybe 45 minutes...eats, plays for a while, takes a nap...always for different amounts of time...then between there and bedtime she may take a few short naps or one long nap or no nap at all... what time do you put your baby to bed? I put her to bed anywhere between 6-8...sometimes she goes right to sleep and sometimes not... I was just curious if anyone else is as lax as I am...She is happy and healthy but I do wonder if I'm doing everything okay? I feed her if she seems hungry...its different every day... Im just curious as to what people are doing!

  • some kids thrive on a schedule and some don't with my son i didn't have a schedule so i just let him set the pace and he pretty much set himself into a schedule so I was pretty lax with him however as gets older Im going to put him on a schedule. My four is on one, I think they need more structure as the get older.

  • My baby has her own schedule. I didn't make it for her! She did it on her own, and I just live my life around her schedule!! lol

  • i've so far let my daughter make her own schedule. since she was about 5 weeks old, she has started going to sleep at about 8p every night, waking up at around 3 or 4a. Then takes probably 4 short naps during the day at pretty regular times. She is 10 weeks now & is very happy :)

  • Yes. I've had all my kids on a schedule since like the 2nd week home from the hospital, changing as needed to suit their current feeding/napping needs. It helps me when I'm doing things like scheduling dr appts, or haircuts, etc. so I know when they will be hungry, awake, or sleeping. Some kids can handle a more flexible schedule, but most kids thrive on some type of schedule - although most people actually have one whether they realize it or not.

  • I don't have a schedule besides a bedtime (which I didn't start until my daughter turned two). A schedule just would not work for us right now. Every kid is different you are doing fine.
