tax help?

I got married in June 20 09. I was wondering the best way to file.. since I been married less then 6 mos can I still claim single with my two children?
also I was wondering if not and I file jointly with 3 young children and 2 adults (( made about $60,000 this year)) would we get anything back. we also paid about $4000 in daycare fees. Thanks.. :)

  • I agree. Run it through Turbotax and it will tell you which is better. Rarely is it better to file married, seperate but you never know.

  • It all depends on what you paid in and what deductions you can claim. You can go to Turbotax and just on the beginning stages of it it'll tell you if it's best to file jointly or single. Plus you don't need to pay anything until you're done and decide to file with them. It'll give you an estimate of what you should get back.

  • You can file Married but separately, instead of jointly.
