  • To some extent. If you eat slower it allows your brain to give off a trigger that lets you know you are full around the time that you really are full. If you eat too fast then this chemical trigger isn't fast enough so you end up over eating before you realize you are full.

  • That is a theory that if you eat small portions slowly you will fill up and therefore eat less and lose weight, I would think that it would take a while for your stomach to agree with you being full but it could work.

  • It takes about 15-20 minutes for your stomach to tell your brain it is full so eating slowly makes sense. Thats why most people have that nasty bloated feeling after scarfing down two platefuls of holiday dinners (aside from the turkey lol)

  • I think that yes, slowing down while eating does give our bodies time to feel full. It also makes us think about what we are actually eating. We just have to pay attention and care enough to eat the right things. So I say yes, slowing down helps control weight to an extent.
