What type og cooking oil should I use to cook fried potatoes in?

  • You can use any type. But I prefer olive oil.

  • Canola or peanut... but like the PP said peanut oil is a bit more $$.

  • Olive oil or grapeseed oil. I usually use olive oil and a bit of butter and have crispy potatoes with no problems.

  • I just use regular Crisco vegetable oil for stovetop fried potatoes. For deep fried french fries, I use peanut oil.

  • I use canola oil. Peanut oil is good to but it does have a distinct flavor. Canola oil doesn't really have a flavor so what you will taste is all potato.
