How much does it cost you to go see a movie where you live?

Went to see Avatar last night at our local movie theater (we only have one) and paid about 20-25 dollars total.

Admission:
Adult: $6
Child: $4

and 10-15 dollars on junk food :o)

Avatar was a GREAT movie!

  • depends on which theater. one theater is 5.25 for kids and 8.50 for adults. the other is 8.00 for kids and 10.50 for adults, but you get a coupon for free popcorn & a drink.

  • I live on the KY / TN border. Here in KY it'll cost you $7.50 at a rinky dink theater. In TN at the nicer theaters, you will pay $8.25-$9 depending on which one you go to.

  • We used to have a $1 theater! They didn't have new releases, but they played things that were out of theater until they went to DVD. It was awesome, but unfortunately, they shut down, I guess they weren't making enough money.

  • $9/adult. I don't know how much for a child as my daughter is only a toddler and I wouldn't dare bring a toddler to the movies lol. Especially my toddler who is in this screaming higher pitched than Mariah Carey phase! Sorry Mariah, but no one wants to hear that octave! lol

  • It depends on where we go. At the Atlas and Regal cinemas it's $6.75 for the matinee and $9 after that. If we go to the theatre that plays movies a few months after they come out it's $1.50 a ticket all the time and then there's a small, family owned theatre (it's about 60 or so years old) that plays brand new movies (1 at a time) and it's $3 for adults and $2 for children between 5-12. A 3D movie will cost us $2.50 more per ticket. I am in OH.
