  • Family of 3, mom with 2 boys 8 and 5 - I spend about $400 a month currently.

I'm working on getting that total down to $250 a month. I have a hard time buying stockpiles, and while that sounds like a good idea, for us its really not. Food winds up going bad and getting tossed before its ever used, and that's just wasteful.

  • We spend about $600-$700 a month on groceries, but that also includes personal hygiene, cleaning supplies and paper products. That's for a family of 4 (mom, dad and 2 sons ages 18 and 19).
