Mary Kay Products?

Has anyone used Mary Kay products? What do you think of them? Worth investing in?

I have some bad skin problems... To the point I haven't been able to wear foundation in 2+ years. My skin is SUPER dry. The only way I can describe it is that it looks like it snows on my face. My skin is flaky and when I put on makeup it looks like my skin is shredded. I hate it, my face constantly feels dry and tight no matter how much I moisturize!!!

I don't use a lot of products- just plain Dove soap to cleanse, aquaphor to moisturize, and a microdermabrasion cream or some sea salt (which I'm out of right now) once a week to exfoliate. I even occasionally break open a vit E capsule and slather it all over my face.

  • So one of my friends does the Mary Kay products. I went to her and asked her to recommend some products and told her what's going on. She recommended these to me-
She's going to send me some free samples of the stuff she recommended since investing in them can be rather pricey.

And I was also looking at these-

Anyone by chance used any of these?

  • And also, has anyone had major problems with dry flaky skin and moisture issues? If so, how do you handle them???

  • Before buying or selling any body care products, it is important to check the safety of the ingredients. I like the Skin Deep database maintained by the Environmental Working Group (the folks who publish the guide to pesticides in produce).

Avon and Mary Kay, among others, make a big public show of their support of breast cancer research and victims, yet refuse to stop using cancer causing ingredients in their products.

  • I have several suggestions for dry skin. FIrst, are you drinking enough water (at least 64oz a day) and eating healthy fats?

I use a milk cleanser by Beauty Without Cruelty, and a moisturizer by Lush. In the winter, if my face is really bad, I use coconut oil at night.

  • When my skin gets dry and flaky I use the Aveda moisturizing mask. I wash my face then apply that and leave it on all night. in the morning I wash like normal and apply a regular moisturizer...I do this everynight in the winter....

As far as mary kay...I never really cared for there products...I like aveda a philosophy...

  • I use the age fighting moisturizer and felt a difference in my skin in just less than 2 wks. I have never had a complaint about any of their skin care products. I'm not saying that because I sell mary kay, but have used their product for a long time and everything I have used works great. Good luck to you! hope you find something that helps you!

  • just letting you know i sold mk and it is a scam..... nothing works we will tell you anything to get anyone to buy it and we make 50% of your price! minus an 8.00 shipping fee.

  • I sell beauticontrol-I love the products, and they are the only thing that works for me.
Stop using soap on your face. Exfoliating once a week is enough.
You likely shouldn't be using aquaphor or vitamin E on it either, it may be making things worse for you.
I recommend cleanser, but our cleansers are more lotion based. Don't use astringents on your skin. Moisturize twice a day. Dont use oil based foundation, use mineral foundation.
And I don't think Mary kay is a scam, they just don't have as many solution based products. Saying Mary Kay is a scam insinuates that olay and all the other skincare lines are scams. They aren't-you get what you pay for.
