How can someone even get 10K back on their taxes if they aren't working full-time or making good money?

You make good money, you can't get welfare.... Right?

Doesn't make sense to me.

  • I would try not to worry about it, anon. :56. It is a snobbery issue. She may or may not be as well off and she makes herself out to be, but she thinks she is better than people in the lower income bracket. She is unhappy with some aspect of her life, and she makes herself feel better by constantly blowing her own whistle and kicking the less fortunate while they are down.

  • I know at our house the more you make the more you PAY.

You could get back a lot if you had a couple of kids and didn't earn enough to put you in a paying bracket. You would get back all you paid in plus the EIC.

They need to do away with the EIC or drastically reduce it. You shouldn't get a "paycheck" for having kids. It doesn't benefit everyone either. It is just another form of welfare. Deductions are a better option.
