Do you think it's selfish to TTC when....

the mother is over 35? Knowing all the risks she's taking, is it selfish of her to TTC?

  • No not over 35. After 50 I think it is ridiculous to have your first kid.

  • nah! with today's experts and physicians she knows what she's getting into. most babies turn out fine and if they didn't that doesn't make them any less perfect for that family. most are religious (christians) and believe their god doesn't give them anymore than they can handle. children are a blessing.

  • I think over 40.. yes, especially if they know the risks and know if they find out the baby has a genetic defect they will terminate. It is irresponsible to create a life when you know damn well you are just gonna kill it if it isn't your perfect expectation.

  • What risks are you referring to? As long as the woman is healthy and capable of caring for the child, I don't think there is an issue. I think that post-menopausal women who do all the fertilty treatments in order to conceive are not taking everything into consideration.

  • If the mother is healthy why SHOULDNT she TTC? are you and AGEIST? ie prejuduced against AGE?
