My son has an infected lymph node. How does one get these????

  • Inflamed or infected? If you just mean he has swelling around that area, it's just a sign he either is sick or has been sick or is actively fighting off an infection. I had one once that lasted 6 months and I couldn't recall being sick... it was like a little hard rock, but the doctors said it was nothing at all to worry about...

  • Probably from a cold or another virus and it just settled in his lymph nodes. My son's used to swell in his neck anytime he had a cold. I would ask the doctor for the most accurate information.
