Has unemployment went down at all in your area?

I heard on CNN radio today that here in Tennessee since we recieved and distributed stimulus money unemployment has went up again for most areas other then one that just stayed the same..my area and sourronding is now at or a bit over 12 percent which is higher then before.We were at about 9 percent before

  • It is going up here in Alaska it is 8.8% thats the highest it has been since 1998.

  • I don't know the rate for the whole state but my county and surrounding counties are around 12 percent or higher...

    It went from 11.8 in November to 13 percent in January

  • Let's look at that closely... People received "FREE" money and employment rates went down. Sounds to me like people enjoy getting free money and of course stop trying to work.

  • Unemployment in CA is 12.4%, up about 3.9% in the past 12 months... However, you can't say the stimilus plan has failed because unemployment hasn't gone down. With the state of the economy (and yes, I'm talking the way it already was when Obama took over), unemployment was BOUND to go up, the stimulus plan was meant to SLOW DOWN the speed with which it was going up.

    But I don't know why I bother, I'm sure I'm just going to get some smart ass comment back.

  • lol anouck no smart ass comment but logically look at those numbers for my area and tn as a whole that isnt any slow decline
