swollen eye

Can a sinus infection cause a childs eye to swell? Like it looks as if my SS was punched in the eye, he can barely open it. Started a little yesterday and got worse today. Gave him some medicine for sinuses but it hasnt seemed to help. Anyone have any ideas? O and no fever, just said his head hurt and the swollen eye. We are all trying to get over a cold for the last couple weeks and he was doing great until yesterday.

  • Well I know when they have snotty noses it can back up into the eye and cause a eye infection. Sounds like he is not fighting it off well and may need some meds.

  • thank you ladies he went into dr, they think that something got in it and caused irritation, which led to the infection. it was just so close to having a cold thats what i thought it was, but we've got it taken care of now!!
