Does he legally still need to be in a booster seat?

My son is 12 years old. But he is very small. He is a little under 5 feet tall, and is 78lbs. We are just a small family. lol.

I was told today, that he legally still has to be in a booster seat because of his weight... is this true?

Thank you

  • It depends on your state's laws.

In California the law is currently 6 years old AND 60 lbs before a child is legally allowed to no longer use a booster seat.
