Do you have to lose your mucus plug before you start dilating?

I'm 36 1/2 weeks and 1cm but I don't think I've lost my mucus plug...

  • losing your plug doesn't for-tell anything anyway.

you can lose it all at once, or over a period of time. if you're body isn't ready for labor, it will replenish itself anyway.

most women don't even know when/if they lose their plug. don't stress over it.

  • i agree that you might have lost the "plug" without noticing it. some might have dripped out while you were peeing or something :)
